Sun Plaza shopping centre adds over 25 new shops
Lego and Forever 21 open largest shops in Romania
Impressive light installation by Austrian multimedia artist Peter Kogler
By March 2018: up to 40 new shops in space spanning over 20,000 m²
The Sun Plaza shopping centre in Bucharest, one of the largest development projects in the history of S IMMO AG, opened more than 25 new shops last week. This marks another milestone in the renovation of the shopping centre that started in the spring of 2016, and augments the existing offerings with new and attractive brands. Along with companies such as Lego and Forever 21, which unveiled their largest locations in Romania in the renovated space, shops such as NYX, Pandora and MAC are opening their doors to visitors. “High-quality properties are an important cornerstone of our success. By renovating our shopping centre, we can increase the value of the property and our portfolio on a lasting basis and secure income over the long term,” said Friedrich Wachernig, member of S IMMO AG’s Management Board.
These quality standards are reflected not only in the expanded offerings, but also in the outstanding design of the renovated spaces. Multimedia artist Peter Kogler, one of the most successful Austrian artists on the international scene, is responsible for the artistic design of a 700 m² glass installation in the entry to the metro and for an 18-metre-tall light installation. From now on, the largest individual luminaire ever produced by the Austrian company Zumtobel will wow visitors to Sun Plaza.
The concept for the renovation was designed by ATP Wien Planungs GmbH, one of the largest integrated planning agencies in Europe. The final completion of the project is scheduled for March 2018. A total area spanning over 20,000 m² is affected by the renovation and will offer space for up to 40 new shops.
