#ROatExpoReal | The first air cargo terminal in Romania

CTP, the largest owner and developer of logistics and industrial space in the Continental Europe, will deliver by the end of 2022 the first spaces from CTPark Oradea Cargo Terminal, a unique real estate project on the Romanian market. Strategically located in the proximity of the Oradea Airport and the Eurobusiness II industrial park, CTPark Oradea Cargo Terminal is the first industrial park in Romania with an air cargo terminal, which provides direct access to the airport.

An article part of the cover story in TB 111 magazine – “Oradea: Business Next Level & LifeNouveau” available here.

CTPark Oradea Cargo Terminal is a unique project in Romania, being probably the most innovative logistic project on the market. It is the first industrial park with an air cargo terminal, involving special infrastructure works coordinated by our construction team. We strongly believe that infrastructure is the key for industrial and logistic projects and we get involved every time when we find authorities open to such sustainable developments”, stated Ana Dumitrache, Country Head, CTP Romania.

CTPark Oradea Cargo Terminal will comprise of 60,000 sqm, being ideal for international logistics and e-commerce businesses, as well as light manufacturers, smaller businesses and startups, with available surface from 500 sqm. The project will set a new benchmark in terms of sustainability. It facilitates emission-free logistics, contributing to tenant’s sustainability goals and those of the municipality of Oradea.

Why air cargo?

According to the International Air Transport Association, the worldwide air cargo volumes will be 11.7 per cent higher in 2022 than in 2019, and 4 per cent more than in 2021, even if the global air passenger traffic is forecast to be about a fifth lower than 2019 levels.

Air freight is considered much more carbon-intensive than shipping by sea, as a recent Financial Times analysis showed. In 2019, ships moved nearly 350 times more cargo than planes but accounted for only five times more carbon dioxide emissions, according to the International Transport Forum. But air freight is faster and has proven more reliable than alternatives as ports have been backlogged, truck drivers have been scarce and warehouses have filled up during the pandemic.
