Within last 12 months LOT has carried between Bucharest and Warsaw 10% more passengers than a year before. It confirms that Polish carrier is becoming a leading airline for Romanian travelers seeking for comfortable and efficient travel options. Network of connections served by LOT has never been this wide! To respond to the growing demand on flying from Bucharest, as of this summer most of the flights will be operated by larger Embraer 195 jets.
As much as 45% of all passengers traveling from Bucharest on board LOT’s aircraft connect at Warsaw Chopin Airport to onward flights to dozens destinations across the world. Among most popular destinations, apart from Warsaw, are Toronto, New Jork, Chicago, Copenhagen, Hamburg and Polish domestic destinations such as Krakow, Wrocław, Gdańsk or Poznań. It means that many passengers traveling from Bucharest already consider Warsaw as major and the most convenient hub in the region.
“We have built our position in Bucharest by creating and developing a convenient product, introducing better quality of service and providing seamless travel for all those, who want to start their journey in Bucharest and fly to dozens destinations in Europe, North America or Asia. Today we are very pleased to offer more than 70 exciting destinations in LOT’s network such as Los Angeles, Newark, Astana or recently launched Seoul. Larger Embraer 195 aircraft will ensure that everyone willing to fly LOT will find and offer dedicated to his needs and requirements” – said Adrian Kubicki, LOT Polish Airlines Communications Director.
LOT flies from Bucharest to Warsaw three times a day ensuring the shortest and the most convenient travel times to vast majority of its destinations, including New York, Chicago, Toronto and Los Angeles (with layover less than an hour) and many destinations in Scandinavia, Western and Eastern Europe.
Apart from Bucharest, LOT also celebrates first successful year of operations from Warsaw to second Romanian destination Cluj-Napoca. Since the beginning Polish carrier develops this route by increasing number of flights.
“LOT sees an amazing potential of growth in Cluj-Napoca, therefore we are systematically increasing number of flights to Warsaw. We have started with 4 weekly, now operate 5 times per week. But this is not enough, therefore we have decided to add another frequency and as of July we will be operating 6 flights per week. This is a great news for all seeking comfortable and efficient travel options where ever and whenever they want” – said Adrian Kubicki, Communications Director of LOT Polish Airlines. “We aim to soon become the major airline for those starting their journey in Cluj-Napoca” – he added.
While flights from Bucharest are operated by Embraer 195 and 175, flights from Cluj-Napoca are operated by modern Bombardier Q400 aircraft.
LOT is the only carrier in Europe which offers as many as three travel classes on short-distance flights, each of which meets the individual requirements and expectations of our clients. Currently, apart from LOT Business Class, the carrier also offers LOT Premium Economy Class, which combines business class service and affordable price. On the other hand, for Economy Class passengers, LOT has created a dedicated tariff known as LOT Economy Simple, which enables them to travel only with hand luggage at a 30% discount. Furthermore, in each class we offer a unique range of products available on board. All LOT passengers can choose from “a la carte” services, such as “My Favourite Meal”, “My Extra Baggage”, Duty Free shopping or AirKiosk on board.
Strengthening position in Romania as a part of LOT’s profitable growth strategy which has been implemented since the early 2016. Based on its underlying assumptions LOT intends to become the first-choice airlines not only among passengers travelling from Poland but also from other countries in the region.
LOT plans to continue its intensive development following 2017; as of April 2017, the carrier is flying to new US destinations, Newark and Los Angeles, in that way expanding its overseas routes.
Tickets for LOT’s flights to Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca can be purchased using all available channels, including the lot.com website, LOT Call Center, the LOT Travel offices and travel agents.
