Sonaca opens its factory in Moldovenesti, Cluj

Belgian company Sonaca will officially inaugurate its plant in Moldovenesti, Cluj County, on 10th of March.
The plant took 18 months to build and the first production lines were put into service mid-September 2016. Currently, the plant has 30 employees and the number will increase up to 200 in the coming years.
The investment made by Sonaca Aerospace Transilvania SRL was possible due to Euro 5.4 million State aid provided by the Government. The total investment worth Euro 11.8 million.
InvestRomania offered support and assistance throughout all the stages of the decisional process.
The ceremony will enjoy the presence of Alexandru Petrescu, Minister for Business, Commerce and Entrepreneurship, Harry-Ilan Laufer, Secretary of state within the same Ministry, Enache Jiru, Secretary of state from the Ministry of Finance and His Excellency Thomas Baekelandt, the Ambassador of Belgium in Romania.
Additional Information
Sonaca Aerospace Transilvania SRL is the local subsidiary of Belgian group Sonaca SA. The main operations cover development, production, assembly and testing of structures and systems for the aerospace industry, for civilian and/or military use. These include aircraft wings components or complex fuselages.
Sonaca’s headquarters is located in Gosselies, Belgium, and the group owns production units in Romania, China, Canada and Brazil.
