One of the leading European logistics companies has just become a tenant at MLP Bucharest West. MLP Group was assisted in completing the transaction by JLL, a real estate services company responsible for commercialising the entire project in Romania.
Maracana is a logistics company present on the Romanian market for over 30 years. In January 2021, Maracana signed a contract with MLP Group to lease more than 5,000 m2 of modern warehouse space. The facility is scheduled for handover in February 2021.
“The new lease contract is another brick to the partnership that JLL have both with the landlord, MLP Group, and the tenant, Maracana. We are very happy that we succeeded again to put together two important companies and creating a synergy between their businesses. This is only the beginning of the partnership involving MLP Group and Maracana, considering that the tenant intends to expend its activities in MLP Bucharest West with an additional spaces of 5,000 m²”, comments Ionuț Grigoraș, consultant Industrial Department JLL Romania.
Phase one of the MLP Bucharest West logistics park has an area of 22,000 m2, of which 15,000 m2 has already been leased out.

The project in Romania was built on a speculative basis, therefore were able to meet the expectations of the customer, who needed warehouse space immediately. MLP Bucharest West is a logistics and manufacturing park with a target area of 99,000 m2. The logistics centre is located in Romania’s key region, only 15 km from the capital city, and has a direct access to the ring road and the A1 motorway. The perfect location of the distribution centre is undoubtedly one of its key advantages, supporting fast and efficient logistics operations.
”2021 started very well for the industrial market, continuing the extraordinary evolution that this segment had in 2020. We saw at this beginning of the year more activity on the demand side than last year, and this makes us optimistic about the market performance in 2021”, comments Mihai Escu, senior consultant JLL România.
