Anamaria Diaconescu, HRCC Director: „We believe in unity”

The Bilateral Hellenic-Romanian Chamber of Commerce (HRCC) is the most representative institution for the Greek Business Community in Romania. Since 2011 it has the status of Romanian legal person of public utility.

The object of the Chamber is to protect and develop trade relations, jobs, services, and exports and to develop economic and trade relations between Greece and Romania.

HRCC Strategy and Goals:

  • SUPPORT economic, cultural, and educational activities of the Greek community in Romania
  • PROMOTE our members through awareness actions: HRCC Monthly Magazine and periodically networking meetings
  • DISSEMINATE knowledge by organizing targeted conferences and webinars
  • FOSTER Relations and collaborations with the Greek and Romanian authorities
  • COLLABORATE in an efficient way with CDR (Coalitia pentru Dezvoltarea Romaniei) for promoting business interests and finding solutions to chronic disfunctions
  • BUILD relations with the Romanian Authorities with focus on Invest Romania, Ministry of Economy, Energy and European Funds
  • PARTICIPATE at reputable events to create awareness about the Chamber and the Greek companies
  • ENHANCE relations with the most important Bilateral Chambers of Commerce
  • ALIGN position with the Embassy of Greece to Bucharest, work together in an efficient and effective way for the common good of the Greek community

Throughout the recent years of my activity as a Director of the Chamber, under the guidelines and substantial constant support of the President and the Members of the Board of Directors, I would highlight some key events and milestones in our activity, that is multifaceted, covering social, economic, financial and diplomatic related aspects:

  • INFRASTRUCTURE & CONSTRUCTIONS CONFERENCE 2022, 2023, 2024 – part of HRCC strategic partnership with “BUCHAREST LEADERS’ SUMMIT”
  • HEALTHCARE & WELLBEING CONFERENCE 2021, 2022, 2024 – part of HRCC strategic partnership with “BUCHAREST LEADERS’ SUMMIT”
  • FINANCE & BANKING & INSURANCE CONFERENCE 2022, 2023, 2024 – part of HRCC strategic partnership with “BUCHAREST LEADERS’ SUMMIT”
  • SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT, ENVIRONMENT & CLIMATE CHANGES CONFERENCE 2022, 2023 – part of HRCC strategic partnership with “BUCHAREST LEADERS’ SUMMIT”
  • TRANSPORT & DIGITALIZATION CONFERENCE 2022
  • FOREIGN INVESTMENTS, DIPLOMACY, AND ECONOMIC RELATIONS CONFERENCE 2022, 2023, 2024

Culture and heritage go hand in hand with our DNA, so the traditional events such as the HRCC Gala Event (with the vasilopita sweet ceremony) and the celebration of the National Day of Greece are integrated part of our core business.

This year, the HRCC GALA, took place on February 15th at the marvelous Bragadiru Palace and it was an outstanding event, bringing together more than 250 Greek and Romanian members and friends.

The evening was dedicated to awarding important Greek and Romanian companies and businessmen that throughout their career created business models of success.

Worth mentioning: Vista Bank, One United Properties, K-Box, Black Sea Suppliers, ND Medhealth and the cultural award to Ms. Danae Stambouli, Scientific Director, CytoGenomic.

Close to history and to the anniversary of the NATIONAL DAY OF GREECE, 203 years of independence, the Hellenic Romanian Bilateral Chamber of Commerce, together with the Hellenic Union, was close to the Embassy of Greece in the organization of the celebration that took place on March 25th, at the Romanian Athenaeum, with more than 750 invitees and an amazing musical program performed by the Ano Poli Thessaloniki orchestra.

As a Chamber of Commerce, we keep promises to our members and, as wisely said by the Greek philosopher Aristotelis, we believe in unity as GROWTH IS NEVER BY MERE CHANCE; IT IS THE RESULT OF FORCES WORKING TOGETHER.

Anamaria Diaconescu,

HRCC Director
