Expo Real 2021: Acknowledged experts and valuable insights

  • Highlights in the conference program
  • 1,200 exhibitors so far
  • Safe trade fair experience thanks to proven protective measures against COVID-19

The first EXPO REAL after the coronavirus outbreak is just around the corner: Messe München’s tried-and-tested protection and hygiene concept finally allows the real estate industry to revive its network in the exhibition halls. Key topics of the conference program are the consequences of the pandemic for the national economy as well as for the real estate industry—and the responsibility of the industry in times of climate change.

“1,200 exhibitors have registered for EXPO REAL so far—and are placing their trust in us that industry meetings will once again be possible without any problems. We really appreciate this after 20 months of standstill,” explains Claudia Boymanns, Exhibition Director EXPO REAL. “And we are pleased to discuss the pressing issues of our time. To do so, we have gathered many well-versed experts in our conference program.”

Conference program highlights

The pandemic has interrupted previous developments and triggered and boosted others. It has strengthened certain segments of the real estate industry and weakened others. And—like the consequences of climate change—it has emphasized the need for cities to change (once again). Although climate change has been on everyone’s lips for a long time, the tasks associated with it are becoming more pressing now. All these developments also come with a social dimension. In addition, in the future, the real estate industry will have to comply with the EU’s ESG guidelines.

These outline the challenges that all areas of the real estate industry are facing and that are the central theme of all events in EXPO REAL’s conference program—from the EXPO REAL FORUM and the PLANNING & PARTNERSHIPS FORUM to the REAL ESTATE INNOVATION FORUM. (Conference program overview).

A safe trade fair experience

Crucial for a safe trade fair experience is the so-called 3G concept, which stipulates that only those vaccinated, recovered or tested (German: geimpft, genesen, getestet) will have access to EXPO REAL. Those participants not fully vaccinated are advised to get tested before coming to the trade fair center. Test centers are near hotels, at Munich Airport, or downtown Munich. In addition, at the trade fair center, distancing rules, ventilation of the exhibition halls, the use of at least medical face masks, hygiene precautions on site and the traceability of all participants ensure a safe trade fair experience.
