PlanRadar delivers first results on the research project “Future of Buildings” at EXPO REAL 2022

2,500 stores of REWE Group Austria use PlanRadar. This year again, several large projects were completed, such as the digitalized expansion and conversion of more BILLA, BILLA PLUS, PENNY, BIPA and ADEG stores of REWE Group Austria. “Thanks to the optimized handling of the construction processes, resources such as costs and time can be significantly saved during the new construction and conversion of our store network. This also coincides with the sustainability goals of REWE Group Austria. We are currently working on making an active contribution to climate and environmental protection in all supermarkets as well as throughout the company. In the future, digitalization will be an essential tool for chain stores to achieve these goals,” says Robert Nagele, Member of the Management Board responsible for Real Estate BILLA / REWE International AG. The integration of all service providers relevant for REWE Group Austria, such as construction companies, plumbers and architects, into a common interface enables a significant shortening of communication channels. Through targeted task planning and deadline setting with the PlanRadar software, the office is linked to the construction site in such a way that the tracking of project progress and the rectification of defects can be carried out at any time and from any location. The inventory of inventory equipment such as refrigerated display cases, etc. is a successful example of the extended use of PlanRadar on the customer side.

The tristar hotel group, the leading hotel operator and implementer of large hotel projects in the DACH region, uses PlanRadar software to ensure high construction quality and a smooth handover of the hotel property between tenant and lessor. “With PlanRadar, we benefit above all from accurate digital documentation of defects and remaining services,” says Vinzenz Schwarz, project manager in the construction division at tristar. The handover of hotels is accompanied digitally, thus enabling time savings through faster and more detailed processes. tristar now uses PlanRadar for digital documentation and defect management in around 15 hotel construction projects with a volume of 10 to 20 million euros, including the Holiday Inn Hamburg HafenCity and Hampton by Hilton Munich City Center East.

“Future of Buildings” study – First insights into future architecture and construction trends

The first part of the three-part whitepaper series on the “Future of Buildings” will be published in mid- September. Architecture, office and residential spaces worldwide were examined in relation to future developments and environmental challenges. People around the world are facing the consequences of climate change; while architects in the Persian Gulf are preparing for extreme heat, architects in Northern Europe are facing violent storms and are therefore also facing major challenges in architecture. Industry representatives from 12 countries in Europe, North America and the Middle East were interviewed in a research project on trends relevant to architecture in the future. What potential hemp has as the building material of the future and how important biophilic design is as an answer to the zero-emissions target are published for the first time.
