Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur: AG Real Estate, CityGate and Sheraton for first phase of Airport Promenade

Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur selects AG Real Estate, CityGate and Sheraton consortium for first phase (Ilot 4.3) of Airport Promenade property development project at Nice Côte d’Azur Airport

As part of the Airport Promenade property development project, located at Nice Airport and at the heart of the Grand Arénas district, the multi-modal exchange centre and the Eco-Vallée, Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur Group announced during the MIPIM exhibition, their selected partners for the implementation of the first phase (Ilot 4.3) of this unique investment: AG Real Estate, the largest real estate group in Belgium, which is a subsidiary of the leading life insurance company AGI in Belgium, and SHERATON as hotel partner.

Since Nice Côte d’Azur Airport is located in the city, this property development project, with the first phase covering an area of approximately 25,400 m², will contribute to the seamless integration of a new district in Nice linking the airport and the city, within the future Grand Arénas business district. It will include a SHERATON 4* plus hotel (a total surface area of approximately 11,500 m² with more than 230 rooms), an apartment building intended for certain state airport services (3,100 m²), an office building (10,000 m²) with shops on the ground floor of the building (800 m²), as well as a car park on 2 levels with a total capacity of 350 spaces.

Located directly on the Promenade des Anglais, opposite Terminal 1 which will soon be connected by tram, this complex will occupy an exceptional as well as renowned position at the entrance of the city. Its strategic location, due to its easement and its direct connection to the airport, will ensure synergies on certain high value-added services.
The international firm ARQUITECTONICA and its founder-architect Bernardo Fort-Brescia have been selected to design this emblematic project, with the hotel also comprising: a restaurant, meeting centre, fitness suite, swimming pool and spa, which is scheduled to open in 2020.

This project has been designed in compliance with environmental quality standards (BREEAM) by ensuring high levels of performance in the area.

Dominique Thillaud, Chairman of the Management Board of Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur:
“This project, which has already been launched, brings together leading partners including AG Real Estate and hotel operator, Sheraton. This demonstrates and further strengthens the confidence of international operators for the attractiveness of our region, which is a premium destination, especially with the Eco-Vallée and its future Exhibition Centre. ”

Nice Côte d’Azur is France’s second busiest airport after Paris, with 12.4 million passengers in 2016, 111 direct destinations and 61 scheduled airlines serving 38 countries. Outside Paris, it is also the only French airport to offer daily flights to New York and Dubai. The Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur Group manages the Nice Côte d’Azur, Cannes Mandelieu and Golfe de Saint-Tropez airports and is ranked second in Europe in terms of business air traffic.
